At the heart of Cornell University's Nolan School of Hotel Administration, I had the honor of returning to deliver a groundbreaking guest lecture: "Enhancing Hospitality with AI: Transforming Guest Experiences and Personal Branding through Digital Storytelling." This session was not just educational; it was a visionary bridge to the future of hospitality, experienced by 80 future industry leaders.
My journey began at Syracuse University iSchool, leading me to pivotal roles at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) and MICROS Systems, Inc., before culminating in a transformative educational experience at Cornell. Here, I discovered the synergy between technology and hospitality, evident in my production of student-led events, a significant internship at McDonald's Corporation headquarters, and groundbreaking restaurant revenue management research with celebrated faculty member, Dr. Sheryl Kimes. Reflecting on my tenure, I realized, Cornell wasn't just an academic pursuit; it was a launchpad for applying and sharing knowledge in meaningful, impactful ways.

My connection to Cornell has been a constant wellspring of opportunity and collaboration. From guest lectures to being featured in Cornell's publications, my alma mater has remained a pivotal part of my professional identity and success. "Cornell has not only recognized my efforts but has continually provided platforms for meaningful engagement in projects that resonate with me," I noted, highlighting the significance of leveraging academic networks.
At the core of my lecture was the transformative potential of storytelling, amplified by AI’s capabilities. "By sharing our narratives through AI, we invite others into our journey, transforming individual experiences into relatable, universal insights," I explained, emphasizing storytelling's role in forging deeper connections.
The Casino Royale special event, part of the HADM 3350 Restaurant Management course, taught by Professor Douglass Miller, served as a perfect example of AI's versatility in event planning:
I urged students to view their personal brand as an evolving narrative that communicates not just what they have done, but who they are as professionals. "AI allows your LinkedIn profile to transform from a static resume to a dynamic portfolio," I explained, encouraging the use of generative AI and platforms like Canva Magic Design and ChatGPT to create standout professional materials.

I introduced practical tools for applying AI in hospitality, like BoodleBox AI, which aggregates diverse AI applications into a cohesive platform, essential for anyone looking to harness AI's power in hospitality (Learn more about BoodleBox AI).
I concluded by encouraging future leaders to see AI not just as a tool but as a partner in refining hospitality's art and science. Reflecting on E.M. Statler's principle, "Life is service," I inspired attendees to innovate through service and technology for unforgettable experiences.
