I'm excited to announce my election to the Board of Directors of the American Society for AI (ASFAI), marking a significant milestone in my journey to shape responsible AI development and implementation globally.

Since integrating Generative AI into my work in 2023, I've trained nearly 7,000 professionals worldwide while enhancing organizational efficiencies and stakeholder engagement. This board appointment, alongside distinguished leaders including Paul Daugherty (Senior Advisor and former Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Accenture), Matthew Guggemos (iTherapy COO), Dr. Miguel Paredes (The Silicon Foundry Venture Partner), and Will Hatcher (AI Storyteller and TIME 100 Most Influential People in AI), represents a natural progression in my mission to advance responsible AI development and deployment.

I'll be working with an exceptional team under the leadership of Dr. Aaron Poynton as Chairman and Dr. Paritosh Ambekar as Vice-Chairman and Director of Strategic Initiatives. Former NASA astronaut and International Space Station Commander Terry Virts joins as Global Ambassador, leading ASFAI's international initiatives to promote AI innovation and responsible governance worldwide.

Known as the "AI Whisperer" and a New York University Adjunct Assistant Professor, I bring unique perspectives from multiple tech revolutions to this new role. In my inaugural article for ASFAI, "AI's Promise and Peril: Navigating the Generative AI Revolution," I explore the transformative potential of AI while addressing critical considerations for both AI development and implementation.

As chair of ASFAI's Ethics and Responsible AI committee, I will lead efforts to develop practical frameworks that ensure ethical considerations are embedded throughout the entire AI lifecycle - from development through deployment.
