As artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes every facet of our lives—from the way we work to how we build community—we are faced with a crucial choice: will we allow technology to diminish our humanity, or will we harness it to amplify what makes us uniquely human?
In the special Mensa Research Journal (MRJ) issue, Human Intelligence in the Age of AI, we explored this question deeply. As a contributor, I had the privilege to introduce, demonstrate, and co-apply my 1+1+AI=10™ methodology, a framework designed to unite individual expertise, collective wisdom, and AI capabilities to unlock exponential human potential.
This article offers an inside look at how my framework wove a connective thread throughout this landmark issue—transforming it into more than just a journal, but a living meta-demonstration of collective intelligence in action.
At the heart of my contributions lies 1+1+AI=10™, a methodology I developed to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: ensuring that AI serves as an amplifier—not a replacer—of human insight, creativity, and ethical reasoning.
This framework integrates:

In my introductory MRJ article, “1+1+AI=10™: Amplifying Human Intelligence Through Integrated Wisdom and Artificial Intelligence,” I laid the foundation for this approach, illustrating its relevance to personal growth, organizational transformation, and societal impact.
Together with co-authors Matthew Guggemos and Nicola Ianeselli, we created “Weaving Intelligence: A Meta-Demonstration of the 1+1+AI=10™ Framework for Collective Wisdom,” a piece that did not merely describe the methodology but embodied it.
This article was itself an act of co-creation—combining our distinct areas of expertise, the collective insights from the entire MRJ issue, and AI-assisted synthesis. In doing so, we showcased how multi-stakeholder collaboration, when enhanced by AI, can produce outcomes far greater than the sum of individual contributions.

We extended this demonstration into a final, experiential piece: “From Theory to Practice: Interactive AI Experience,” co-authored by Matthew Guggemos and me. In this piece, readers were invited to engage directly with a custom-trained GPT model inspired by the journal’s content—highlighting the vital interplay between human judgment and AI-driven augmentation.
This interactive component embodied the philosophy of 1+1+AI=10™, moving from abstract concept to lived experience and encouraging readers to reflect on their own potential roles as active “weavers” of our collective future.
The MRJ special issue also aligned with key findings from the Mensa Foundation’s Unmet Needs study, which identified crucial gaps among highly intelligent individuals, such as the need for mentorship, opportunities for authentic connection, and platforms for meaningful contribution.
By centering my methodology throughout the issue, we offered a tangible pathway for these individuals—and indeed, for all changemakers—to integrate their unique strengths with collective intelligence and AI, creating new possibilities for personal and societal transformation.
As I shared in my keynote at the 2025 Mensa Colloquium, “Technology should enhance human potential—not replace it.” The 1+1+AI=10™ framework invites each of us to be active participants, weaving our individual brilliance into a collective tapestry that is resilient, innovative, and deeply human.
I invite you to explore this methodology further and consider how you, too, can amplify your story, impact, and community by integrating your insights with collective wisdom and AI.
